JOB OPPORTUNITY: YTM DIRECTOR

    JOB OPPORTUNITY: YTM DIRECTOR

    RESIDENT ‘YOUNG THEATRE MAKERS’ DIRECTOR

Tobacco Factory Theatres is seeking a local director or facilitator to become a key part of our creative delivery team. The director will work with our Young Theatre Maker companies over the course of an academic year. Working with an assistant, the director will lead weekly sessions (on Sundays) with young people aged 7 – 13, developing a wide range of skills and devising a performance.

The YTM Director will be enthusiastic about working with young people and will have experience in this area. They will be an excellent facilitator, keen to ensure the process is rewarding and enjoyable for the students, and any performances created are of a high standard. It is important that the director has experience working with this age group (7 – 19). Tobacco Factory Theatres sees this as a potential professional development opportunity for an artist who may not have specific experience leading on a project of this kind (though they may have assisted on similar work, or directed professional or community projects with other age groups). There will be scope for feedback and training over the course of the year.
