Arts for Impact: The Big Give DRAFT

The Big Give: Arts for Impact

We are delighted to have been accepted for the Big Give’s ‘Arts For Impact’ match-funding fundraising campaign. This means for every £1 donated, we will receive £2.

The aim for this campaign is to increase access to the arts for young people in our local community who would not otherwise be able to access such a provision. Led by our Get Involved team, this work will assist participants with personal development, new experiences and an insight into performing arts.

Rooted in South Bristol, we are aware that there is an increasing number of families and schools who face a financial barrier when accessing the performing arts. We want to build more meaningful relationships within our community and remove some of the barriers that can make the arts inaccessible.

Through the Arts for Impact programme, our goal is to double the number of free bursary places right across our Get Involved programme in 2024/25, including our hugely popular Summer School places.

To envelope as wide a participation reach as possible, we would also look to offer heavily subsidised tickets to our productions for 16 to 25 year-olds, across the entire programme of performances at TFT over the next 12 months. We will offer further support to signpost young audiences to other opportunities and/or charities that can help development and learning, as we have done previously with productions, that have tackled issues such as toxic masculinity, bullying, racism, homophobia and domestic abuse.

The fundraising window is small. We have just 7 days from 19 March until 12pm on 26 March, and all donations made in this time will be included in our target for match funding. Anything received outside of this time will not count for the match funding appeal.

We need your support – no matter how small the donation, every penny really does make a difference and every single donation has twice the impact due to the match funding. We will be singing from the roof tops when the donation window opens, so please keep an eye out on your emails, our socials, and the website – your support will enable us to offer more bursary places that are in such high demand.
