Resident Artist Scheme 2021-22

    Our New Year Update

    Our New Year Update

Let us start by extending our best wishes to you and your loved ones for a healthy and hopeful 2021.

As England is currently in a national lockdown our theatres and spaces remain closed. We are working to postpone, reschedule and reimagine live events in the early part of this year, and as soon as we are able we will update bookers directly.

In December we were delighted to partner on sell-out doorstep Christmas show BS3 Santa and to enable Santa and Elf to sprinkle their magic in BS4, visiting families in Filwood. Also, our partnerships with Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, Pins and Needles, New International Encounter and Cambridge Junction enchanted families with magical Christmas shows Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas and The Snow Queen from the comfort of their homes.

Earlier in 2020 we were inspired by Daniel Kitson’s live stream from our theatre in November, we distributed hardship bursaries to artists through the Gane Trust and we announced our new partnership with Boomsatsuma on the Bristol School of Acting.

As we look ahead to the coming months, we hold all of our audiences and communities dear. We look forward to sharing plans to connect with you all through shows, Get Involved activities and opportunities for artists, to harness the enriching, revitalising power of the performing arts, even whilst we cannot physically be together.

We’ll continue to share updates and plans on our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels and to our email database (sign up to emails).

If you are in a position to help our charity during this challenging period, please consider supporting us with a donation or through regular support as a member. Thank you.

    With our best wishes,

    Mike Tweddle, Artistic Director
    David Dewhurst, Executive Director
