We’ve been blown away by the generosity from people across Bristol towards our ‘Reimagine with Us’ fundraising campaign for the redevelopment of Tobacco Factory Theatres.
It’s extremely satisfying to confirm that, with your support, we have achieved that target. This is a huge moment for Tobacco Factory Theatres – and we extend our heartfelt thanks for your contribution to the campaign.
The redevelopment signals a step-change in our ambition with the revitalised spaces having a real and lasting impact on our work. Tobacco Factory Theatres now has the physical foundations to fulfil our strategic ambitions: to build our reputation for artistic excellence by creating more work in Bristol, and deliver more opportunities for creative exploration and skills development for artists and our Bristol communities through our Get Involved and artist development programme.
It’s thrilling to be leading Tobacco Factory Theatres as this bold new chapter takes shape, and with a state-of–the-art theatre with the capability to produce and present the very highest quality theatre.
Our creativity is driven by communities from across Bristol and we’re now ready to welcome audiences, participants, artists and supporters into the completely reimagined Tobacco Factory Theatres and start making this a living breathing creative space. Please come and see us over the coming weeks to experience the new look of Tobacco Factory Theatres and let us know what you think.
The exceptional Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory production of Henry V is in the Factory Theatre until Sat 6 October before our own production of Beautiful Thing opens on Thu 11 October. The new Spielman Theatre will usher in a rich variety of national and international touring work to Southville as well as acting as an engine room for new ideas and a creative and learning space for all ages. The first season opens on Wed 24 October with the Ellie Dubois circus performance, No Show. And we have plenty of opportunities to Get Involved for young people and adults, and for artists there are a host of events and programmes to engage with.
As a charity we will still rely on your generosity that enables us to deliver our vision of creating more excellent theatre work, increasingly informed by our community; and creating more opportunities for learning and for artist development. Your continued support means our work is sustainable as we work to increase our reach.
Thank you so much – we look forward to welcoming you to Tobacco Factory Theatres soon.
