    About

EVERY SUNDAY* FROM 07 january TO 24 MARCH 2024

Designed to be a safe space of creative exploration for 8-9 year olds, children will build their confidence by learning new skills, making new friends and most importantly having fun. These workshops are not just about acting, they are about teamwork, social skills, imagination, and creative expression.

*Please note there are no sessions on Sun 11 & Sun 18 February

Young Theatre Makers is our weekly youth theatre for 4-18 year olds. YTM runs each week during term time, with all groups meeting on a Sunday with the exception of Years 7-9 which will take place on a Thursday.

Our sessions are energetic, challenging, educational and fun!

We will explore and develop a wide range of theatre skills, which may include:

    • Movement
    • Clowning
    • Storytelling
    • Voice and communication
    • Trust and team-building

The aims of our workshops are to:

    • Inspire young people to engage in theatre and the arts.
    • Enable young people to explore their creativity and imagination, build confidence, have fun and make new friends.

We understand that not all children of this age will feel comfortable being somewhere new without their parents. On Saturday mornings, parents are welcome to stay and have a cup of coffee (and enjoy some peace and quiet, perhaps) in our upstairs bar. The workshop room doors will remain open, and children who need a bit of extra support from their parents are welcome to know that they are only a few steps away.

    Hannah-Rose Wiltshire, Workshop Facilitator

Hannah-Rose has been working as a drama facilitator for 10 years, teaching students from 18 months to 21 years. She’s showcased her unique brand of performance and education in schools, communities and companies across the UK, including Stagecoach, Bristol Academy of Drama, and All-In Productions.

Hannah-Rose also works as a freelance LAMDA teacher, and runs her own theatre company, Drama with Hannah-Rose.

“As a facilitator, the main focus of my classes is to build confidence and imagination in children,” she explains. “I use storytelling and roleplay to nurture creativity and independence. At this age, drama isn’t just about performing in front of an audience – it’s a dress rehearsal for the journey ahead of them”.
