Writer's Lab Presents: This Show Is Not About Death

Writers Lab Presents: This Show Is Not About Death

    About

Writers Lab Presents…two new works by emerging theatre-makers who have developed their craft through our Writers Lab group. These are bold, distinct new pieces about grief and trust, told through dark comedy and inventive
theatrical storytelling, proudly presented by TFT!

Writers Lab is the Tobacco Factory Theatres’ adult Get Involved group
focussed on writing for performance. The programme supports new and
developing writers through weekly sessions focused on voice, confidence and craft. Since it began in 2023 over 100 writers have been involved. Writers Lab Presents… marks the first time any of their work has been presented in a
dedicated showcase of this scale. Introducing our first show of the day…

This Play Is Not About Death by Charlotte Souter

Ella is fine. This is a completely normal one-woman show. This is an office comedy, nothing else. This show isn’t about death. This show isn’t about rubbish dads. This show isn’t about what happens when a rubbish dad dies. This show isn’t about grieving, because why would you grieve something you never really had in your life? A story about trying to navigate complicated grief without a map.

    About Charlotte
