Leave the dark streets and come into the heat of a Spanish summer’s night in the Factory Theatre Bar on Tuesday, 5 February 2019. The rhythms, the colour and the unexpected will strike you. Flamenco Punta Tacón, a local troupe, offers you a warm welcome to their diverse programme of traditional and contemporary Spanish music and dance in an intimate bar setting. The variety of the “palos” (the different types and styles of flamenco) not only draws on repertoires hailing from the flamenco heartland of Southern Spain, Andalucía, but also from the North of the country, from Latin America and North Africa. Everything from the up-tempo Latin flavoured rumba, through the whirling sevillanas, to the earthy bulerías, the dramatic farruca, as well as the jota from the folk repertoire. In addition, singers from local choirs will add their latin sounds to the programme.
Do not miss this exciting show, Flamenco Punta Tacón’s third appearance at the Factory, with guitarist David, and Wenda, MariAlhambra and el Halcón, the dancers. In various guises, the troupe has been performing at numerous venues in the area, and in others, including abroad, since 2005: in theatres, arts’ centres, cinemas, bars and restaurants, as well as in Peñas Flamencas (Flamenco clubs), with some of the artistes having done so in Spain itself.
