Welcome to Oz! Where all that glitters may not be what it seems…
After a violent storm, a brave young girl finds herself lost in a world that bears no relation to her own. A magic land of potent poppy fields, ferocious flying monkeys and rogue rulers.
Join us this Christmas on the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Will Dorothy have the heart, courage and wit to take on the Great and Powerful Oz in order to find her way home? Sometimes the smallest voice can shout the loudest.
This new production by Tobacco Factory Theatres and Pins and Needles is based on the original The Wizard of Oz books by L. Frank Baum. With imaginative storytelling, original live music and humour for all the family, OZ will transport you to lands both wicked and wonderful.
Tobacco Factory Theatres is delighted to be co-producing this Christmas with Pins and Needles, the creative team behind the 2020 Olivier award-nominated West End hit Oi Frog and Friends and the 2018 UK Theatre award-winning Little Mermaid.

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented enormous challenges for our theatre and for the arts more widely. If you are able to spend a little more, your contribution will support us as we invest in this original production, offer employment to local artists, and guarantee socially distanced performances and lower prices for those who need them. The last 18 months have impacted everyone differently, but if you Give the Gift of theatre you’ll help us ensure all our community can enjoy some much-needed Christmas magic. COVID SAFETY MEASURES AND BOOKING
All performances of OZ are sold with reduced capacity and with seating in groups. The size and location of groups cannot be changed, however you are able to book any number of seats within a group. Please note that if you do not book all of the seats within a group, this may mean you will be seated next to another party. Exceptions to this are Socially Distanced, Relaxed and Schools performances, where social distancing will be maintained and where all tickets within a seating group must therefore be purchased.
We may increase capacity and relax measures further once we are certain it’s safe to do so, however we will guarantee at least one socially distanced performance per week for all shows with a run of at least five performances – see more below. Read more about our Covid safety measures this autumn.
SOCIALLY DISTANCED SHOWS
The following performances will be guaranteed as socially distanced and this will not change regardless of external circumstances. Audiences are asked to wear face coverings for these performances, unless exempt:
Mon 13 December 7pm
Mon 20 December 2pm
Thu 30 December 7pm
Thu 06 January 7pm
