Clevedon School are excited to announce their collaborations with Mark Wheeller and The Tobacco Factory Theatres.
Mark Wheeller is the most performed playwright by school and youth groups across the country and has his plays on GCSE specifications. Clevedon School are honoured to be producing the premier of his revised ‘One Evacuee’, a play based on his late mother’s memories of being evacuated during WW1.
Clevedon Youth Theatre (CYT) is a 28 strong company of cast and crew, which reforms every January to create a performance for the county drama festivals. On Sunday 23rd March CYT one more competed at The County Drama Festival in Ilminster, receiving 5 nominations and coming away with two trophies: The Lydia Durston Trophy for Greatest Endeavor and, four the fourth year running, The Eyris Jones Memorial Trophy for Best Youth Production. The adjudicator, Bob Tomson, commented that, “with an abundance of young actors like this, the future of theatre in the County is assured.”
