Watch as paper, wool, card, clay and fabric take life and crawl, run, leap and fly across the screen. A lively and playful collection of short puppet based films by new and emerging filmmakers from across the South West.

Puppet animation has always capitalised on the quality of materials and objects when creating worlds and weaving stories. The dance of a few grains of sand or the artful twist of a scrap of paper are all used to tell compelling and entrancing stories – but are they puppets?
This selection of films gathers together some of the best examples of object and materials led animated storytelling from new and emerging artists to challenge to the notion of the “puppet” in animated film.
