    ARCHIVE: Happy Hour
    About

Anne’s finally got both her children together again in the family pub to scatter her husband’s ashes – somewhere…

Kay wants to hurry it along. Tom’s just jetlagged. But Anne’s having none of it. She wants to slow things down; say goodbye to Joe properly – then focus on the real reason they’re here. The money.

Happy Hour is written by Anita Vettesse, who has worked extensively as an actor for nearly 20 years – this is her debut play as a writer. It is directed by Sherman Cymru’s Associate Director Gethin Evans. Fresh from performances in its birthplace at Òran Mór, it will play here at Tobacco Factory Theatres before transferring to Cardiff’s Sherman Cymru.

    A PLAY, A PIE AND A PINT

Originally created by Glagow’s Òran Mór, a Play, a Pie and a Pint showcases new writing from established and emerging playwrights. Previous successes here include Banksy: The Room in the Elephant and Helen.

The Idlewild Trust and The Thistle Trust are proud to support A Play, A Pie and A Pint at Tobacco Factory Theatres

"Time and again, you just have to laugh: the dialogue is too sharp, too full of hilariously venomous point-scoring not to"

      The Herald
    • "this beautifully shaped family drama...comes laced with a surreal and bitter comic sharpness...that announces the arrival of a major new talent, not to be ignored."

      The Scotsman
