    About

Performed by our community choir, Factory Tapes is a presentation of stories and memories from the lives of the choir members, woven together with songs.

Taking inspiration from the well known BBC Radio 4 programme, Desert Island Discs, the Factory Tapes seeks to explore the powerful connection between song and story with a rich repertoire featuring the music of Elbow, Van Morrison, The Beatles, The Cure, Eurythmics and more.

This is going to be a beautiful show, and a chance to really get to know the incredible humans that make up the Factory Singers.

The Factory Singers is our wonderful community chorus who meet weekly to sing together. Through singing, we promote a sense of wellbeing and belonging to the community. Our ethos is to sing with joy, passion, groove and style, whilst making a beautiful sound! We aim high, but don’t take ourselves too seriously – we just enjoy singing our hearts out.

Led by Musician David Hewson and Choir Leader Ailie deBonnaire, weekly sessions are fun, friendly and aim to develop skills through a wide-ranging selection of songs from the worlds of Pop, Funk and Folk from across the decades. Local composers arrange songs especially for the Factory Singers; the arrangement styles are bold and surprising, so no one is a backing vocalist!
