    About

Due to updated government restrictions published on Tue 18 May, unfortunately the in person summer term for our Factory Singers is no longer allowed to take place.  All bookers have been contacted.

The Factory Singers is our wonderful community chorus, with members meeting weekly to sing together. Through singing, we promote a sense of wellbeing and belonging to the community. Our ethos is to sing with joy, passion, groove and style, whilst making a beautiful sound! We aim high, but don’t take ourselves too seriously – we just enjoy singing our hearts out.

This summer we are absolutely delighted to restart our choir rehearsals in person at Tobacco Factory Theatres. Capacity will be limited for the summer term whilst we maintain social distancing during rehearsals, but we hope to bring the choir back to full capacity as soon as restrictions fully ease later in the year.

Led by Musician David Hewson and Choir Leader Ailie deBonnaire, weekly sessions are fun, friendly and aim to develop skills through a wide-ranging selection of songs from the worlds of Pop, Funk and Folk from across the decades. Local composers arrange songs especially for the Factory Singers; the arrangement styles are bold and surprising, so no one is a backing vocalist!

    • Build a lasting connection with other people from the local area

    FACTORY SINGERS SUMMER TERM

The summer term of the Factory Singers Choir will run from Sun 23 May – Mon 12 July 2021.  The first rehearsal on Sun 23 May will include a familiarisation session (see below) but thereafter, all rehearsals will take place on Mondays at Tobacco Factory Theatres from 7pm – 8.30pm.

A familiarisation session will be held on Sun 23 May so that the choir can acclimatise to its new space at Tobacco Factory Theatres and get to grips with the Covid measures that will be in place at the theatre.

    Pay What You Choose

By joining, you sign up for the whole term and can choose to pay £3, £7 or £12 per session, which works out as £24, £56 or £96 for the full term.

Our Get Involved programme is at the very heart of our mission to provide a welcoming home for creative adventures. We want these opportunities to be open to all by keeping prices as low as possible. The true cost per person of running the choir per person is £12 per session or £96 for the full term, so if you are able to spend a little more, your contribution will help support our theatre and the incredible artists we work with to bring you this programme. Regardless of what you choose to pay, session leaders will be paid in full for their time and expertise.

To sign up and pay for the full term up front, click the ‘Buy Tickets’ button above.

PLEASE NOTE, when booking you will only see the first date of the term. By booking you are committing to the full Factory Singers term.
