dressed. is about the power of clothes to define us, to liberate us, to hide us and to embellish us. It is about making something beautiful out of something dark and traumatic. It is a celebration of female performance and friendship.
After being stripped at gun point, Lydia sets out to redress herself with a new healing set of armour. Lydia now only wears clothes she has made.
In 2016 Lydia gave herself one year to make all her clothes. At the end of the year, she gave away all the clothes she had ever bought from shops. Made My Wardrobe is the blog she created to document and share the process and everything behind it.
Combining storytelling, live sewing, music, dance and clowning to turn a traumatic experience into something beautiful and resilient, dressed. is an intimate show created by four school friends about reclaiming one’s body, female friendship and the integrity of clothes to identity.
