    Best of BE Festival 2020

      01 Jan - 27 Mar 2020

Please see our statement regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus epidemic

We have sadly cancelled performances of Best of BE FESTIVAL. We are contacting all ticket holders to ask them to gift the cost of their ticket as a donation to the theatre, credit accounts or to arrange refunds. Please bear with us while we work through this as quickly as we can.

Unfortunately, due to illness, Hannah De Meyer is unable to perform her piece Levitations as part of Best of BE Festival as planned this year. Instead, the full-length versions of Precedents To A Potential Future and The Sensemaker will be performed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Each year, BE FESTIVAL packages up favourite shows from its international festival in Birmingham and sends them on a tour of the UK. This year, an all-female line up of companies from Switzerland and Hungary will showcase snapshots of storytelling, dance, physical theatre all in one exhilarating evening. We are delighted to be co-presenting with Circomedia once again.

Hungarian dance-artist Anna Biczók mixes memories, imagination and shifting perspectives to explore the phenomena of an ‘experience’ in her solo dance lecture Precedents To A Potential Future.

In The Sensemaker from Switzerland, a mute dancer panics and strains to keep her tightly orchestrated routine in time to the chopped and spliced soundtrack. Bits and pieces of music and spoken word are contrasted to push the protagonist to the limit.
