Yesterday evening, with the wind howling around us, we welcomed members, colleagues, industry peers, supporters, press and friends to our Brewery Theatre for our Dec 15 – May 16 Season Launch.
It was a lovely evening of celebration and excitement about the upcoming months.
John Nicholson, director of The Light Princess, updated the assembled guests on our latest Christmas production, which is shaping up to be absolutely spectacular when it opens to preview audiences next week. Get in quick if you want to book your tickets for this season’s hottest ticket!
And our Director, Ali Robertson, told everyone about new developments at Tobacco Factory Theatres and the upcoming season.
HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights include the stellar Shakespeare season which we co-produce with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, a groundbreaking performance of an award-winning stage adaptation of Eimear McBride’s A Girl Is A Half-Formed Thing and our new Beyond off-site season (read on to hear more).
Following the expansion of adjacent businesses, our Brewery Theatre is no longer useable as a theatre space due to a lack of front of house facilities. So from January to May this year, the Brewery Theatre is going to be closed while we make plans to refurbish and improve our second theatre space. We’ll tell you more as plans develop but in the meantime, we’re not resting on our laurels!
Alongside our Factory Theatre season, we will be presenting work across the city, as part of Tobacco Factory Theatres Beyond – including performances at Circomedia, the NEW Wardrobe Theatre in Old Market, The Greenbank in Easton, The Loco Klub under Bristol Temple Meads and Zion Community Space.
And don’t forget, it all kicks off with our spectacular new creation for the Christmas season The Light Princess, plus Living Spit’s A Christmas Carol and Kid Carpet’s Noisy Nativity. Find out more about Christmas at Tobacco Factory Theatres here.
