We are very proud of the young people who achieved Arts Awards with us this summer and are extending a huge round of applause to them all!
An Arts Award is a qualification that young people can work towards whilst taking part in arts activities. This year four of Tobacco Factory Theatres’s Young Producers achieved their Silver Arts Awards and all six of our Work Experience students achieved their Bronze Arts Awards. All of these young people took on the challenge and created fantastic portfolios showcasing their skills development and the work they put into their activities.
Arts Awards inspire young people to grow their arts and leadership talents. Our Young Producers worked tirelessly to produce SPARK: A Festival of Art, which was held at Tobacco Factory Theatres in May. The Arts Award achievers (pictured below) showcased the development of their leadership skills through SPARK in their amazing portfolios, including one that amounted to 172 pages! Our assessor was impressed too: ‘Their passion for what they are doing really shines through.’
A few weeks after the Young Producers, our wonderful work experience team, pictured at the top, spent a week with us developing marketing strategies, reviewing Sweet Like Chocolate Boy and pitching their own show at the end of the week. What a talented bunch…future producers in the making?!
We’re already planning the Arts Awards for next year and can’t wait to see what the young people bring to the table in 2020!
