Inspired by the world of Macbeth, over 35 Young Theatre Makers aged 11-18 are stepping into the spotlight as they create and perform three brand new Shakespearean takes. Led by Director Imogen Downes, with Assistants Gabriel Kelly and Joe Northstone, the company have explored character, movement, sound, lighting and text to creatively respond to Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy. These pieces will open the evening’s performance on three specific dates over the run of Macbeth – welcoming audiences into the story before the main show begins.
This special showcase event is a presentation of the three curtain-raisers, created and performed by Year 7-9 and Year 10-13 Young Theatre Makers.
Young Theatre Makers is our youth theatre for 4-18 year olds, giving young people a chance to work in a professional theatre environment, learn new skills and develop as theatre maker
