We Are Fox

    We Are Fox

    About

“Not all folk tales are about forests full of princesses. You knew that, right?”

We got to thinking about how we live in the high rises and terraces, suburbs and estates. And then we went skip-diving for old stories about people – human and otherwise – with pasts, with secrets, with experiences to share if you only stop and chat.

We’ve hauled up folktales of strangers with milky eyes, pockets full of rubbish, hands that are not their own, questions that they ask to everyone they meet… Give it up surviving and thriving, for sharp wits, courage and curiosity, and singing your song in the dark.

    Get this…

The Leberou walks fast through the night. Legend says he must pass under seven bell towers in seven parishes before dawn breaks. He has walked so many streets, so many nights, with no bed of his own. If you are out as the dusk, be warned! He may jump up on your back. But in return for the ride, what stories he will tell you with his whiskery snout in your ear, and his hairy legs wrapped around your waist.

    Forget fear, get curious!

Come be bell ringers and fox choir. Get your ears full of stories. We’ll also be featuring a special guest from your manor, because we are nosey and we want to know everyone and everything.

We Are Fox is Story Jam’s new project after our sell-out touring show, Women Who Gave No F**ks.

It was such a brilliant celebration of women and women storytellers

    Special Guests:

Hugh Rose of the exciting North Bristol charity Bristol Tree Craft, alongside Hio Oamil, one of their young Green Leaders, will join Story Jam on stage just before the interval to talk about Bristol Tree Craft.

Bristol Tree Craft is a small not-for-profit organisation using traditional crafts to bring people together in nature. We create welcoming, joyful spaces where people can ‘learn by doing’, and almost without noticing, come away with new skills, new connections and renewed confidence to thrive in their outside lives. They work mainly with groups of people marginalised by mainstream society, but, recognizing that we all share these foundational needs, also offer opportunities for everyone to access creativity in nature.
