An evening of spoken word with actor, writer and two-time national poetry slam winner
Milk Poetry selects the finest, freshest poets from the UK and beyond to produce the most nourishing and eclectic spoken word bonanza you could ever hope for, curated and hosted by Malaika Kegode (Outlier) – monthly Mondays at The Wardrobe Theatre
Ben Norris is the name given to a particular group of atoms that assembled themselves into the shape of a human in the early 90s in Nottingham and now reside in London, despite constantly threatening not to. The assemblage known as Ben is an actor and writer, a two-time national poetry slam winner, and provides the voice for a fictional Ben called Ben Archer on the popular BBC Radio 4 drama ‘The Archers’. That Ben recently got someone pregnant by accident at a rave in the woods, which this Ben has not, as far as he is aware. But never say never.
Real Ben wrote the monologues for the jukebox musical ‘The Choir of Man’ and originated the role of the Poet when the show debuted on the West End in 2021, where it was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment / Comedy Play. His second short film, commissioned by the BBC and BFI, is currently in post-production, and in January 2023 he made his first ever Victoria Sponge.
