‘Mr Brightside’ hasn’t left the UK charts in 19 years. How did it end up like this? An interactive investigation with karaoke, lip-syncing, and absolute bangers, from Shepard Tone Theatre
Tim and Hannah discover a viral video of a bar singing ‘Mr Brightside’ to their recently departed friend. Reading online comments they uncover stories of incredible people – all united by one song. Together they conduct an investigation into the chart-busting phenomenon and give you an unashamedly good night out in the process. A fusion of karaoke, lip syncing and absolute bangers, Coming Out Of My Cage (And I’ve Been Doing Just Fine) is a love letter to music and the power of community and an unashamedly good night out.
The award-winning, sold out Edinburgh Fringe sensation, a “must see” (Independent) show recommended by The Guardian and Time Out.
Shepard Tone makes experimental theatre that your mum can still enjoy. They like to make work about serious topics, but using a fun, accessible way in, in order to draw a varied crowd, rather than just preaching to the choir.
