    • Anyone aged 18+ is welcome to join the Factory Singers and no previous singing experience is necessary.
    • There are no auditions. We will be singing in three parts: Soprano, Alto, Baritone (sometimes the Baritones will split into Tenor and Bass). If you don’t know your singing part we can help you with this at your first session.

HOW DO YOU LEARN YOUR SONGS?

    • Our teaching style is inclusive and designed to be suitable for those with all levels of musical experience.
    • Sheet music will be provided to those who want it.
    • Lyrics are available or you can chose to learn by ear.
    • We will provide recorded tracks of the songs for each singing part.

WHAT DO YOU DO DURING SESSIONS?

    • Members sign up at the door and we spend about 30 minutes warming up by singing a variety of rounds and songs from across the world.
    • We then practise our main material for the remainder of the session.
    • There is always a break in the middle for a drink and notices. We have an urn and tea will be provided, but please bring your own cup.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL YOU SING?

    • We sing pop, funk, soul disco and much more! Expect anything from Joni Mitchell to Stevie Wonder, from Dusty Springfield to The Eurythmics.
    • Our ethos is to sing with joy, passion, groove and style.
    • The majority of our music is arranged specifically for the Factory Singers

    WILL THE CHOIR PERFORM?

    • The choir will perform each term. Sometimes our gigs will be small and informal, sometimes we’ll aim much bigger! We may also be invited to perform at charity events across the city. Gig dates will be shared with the choir as and when they are confirmed.
