Artsmark 1

    Artsmark

We are delighted to be an Artsmark Partner.

Artsmark is Arts Council England’s creative quality standard for schools and educational settings. It has been designed by schools, for schools, to align with School Improvement Plans and support core EBACC and STEM priorities, giving the curriculum breadth and balance.

As well as recognising schools that are making the arts come alive, the Artsmark award is a practical and valuable tool for enriching a school’s arts provision whatever the starting point.

You can find out more about how it works on the Artsmark website.

We want to ensure that all your students can engage with our productions and gain insights into the theatre-making process. We also offer subject-focused workshops such as Creative History – we’ve recently led workshops introducing the Battle of Britain and the Tudors.

With learning and the exchange of ideas at the heart of our work, we offer a range of opportunities that are designed to provide a creative adventure for your students through theatre and performance. We also aim to inspire and support those who potentially hadn’t realised the vast nature of careers in the industry.

Our offer provides schools at any stage of their Artsmark journey with the opportunity to enhance their provision of drama across the whole curriculum and engage their students in experiences rich in cultural capital.

The Engagement Programme connects with and helps schools on their Artsmark journey in the following ways:

Workshops – Our workshops provide an increase in arts provision in school settings, and with genuine input from our Teacher Members, we can make sure we cover curriculum priorities such as literacy and numeracy to our Explore and Bespoke workshops, therefore engaging harder to reach students through drama. Subject to availability, we can offer workshops on top of the set of the show you are coming to see!

Industry Mornings – In conjunction with your school priorities, we can hold industry mornings with our staff and on request, industry professionals to give your students authentic insight into potential career paths.

Backstage tours – If you plan to come to the theatre for a workshop or to see a show, we can offer bespoke backstage tours to your students – giving them an insight into behind the scenes!

SPARK! Festival – SPARK! Festival allows young people aged 14-25 to come and see 20+ pieces of work for just £5. It is a great way for students to connect with artists, producers and see a wide variety of work in a short amount of time!

CPD and Training – We hold CPD sessions which help teachers to plan rich and engaging sessions for their students, increases teachers’ confidence when using art forms across the curriculum and allows teachers to find out first-hand about our programme. We’ve had really positive feedback that teachers are using the techniques across the curriculum.
